Chris Lachnicht tattooing a client at Heart and Soul Tattoos

Heart and Soul Tattoos is a private, one-on-one tattoo studio in Roswell, Georgia, owned and operated by me, Chris Lachnicht. With over 20 years of experience, I've built my studio around two things: creating clean, professional tattoos and providing an experience that's just as memorable as the artwork itself.

There are a lot of talented tattoo artists out there, and I have nothing but respect for them. What I strive to offer is something more — a relaxed, private environment where every client feels comfortable, heard, and never rushed. I believe the experience is just as important as the tattoo because both stay with you for a lifetime.

The name Heart and Soul Tattoos reflects exactly how I approach my work. Every tattoo receives my full attention, genuine care, and commitment to creating something meaningful that you'll be proud to wear for years to come.

Whether it's your first tattoo or your fiftieth, my goal is simple: exceptional artwork, an enjoyable experience, and a client who leaves excited to come back.

Professional Aftercare

Care for the Craft

A great tattoo is a partnership. Here's how to protect the work — whether it's your first piece or your fiftieth.

For Beginners · First Tattoo

The First Two Weeks

  1. 01Leave the initial bandage on for 2–4 hours (or as directed). Longer for Saniderm — up to 3–5 days.
  2. 02Wash hands thoroughly, then gently clean the tattoo with lukewarm water and a fragrance-free antibacterial soap.
  3. 03Pat dry with a clean paper towel. Never rub.
  4. 04Apply a thin layer of unscented lotion (Aquaphor for the first 2–3 days, then Lubriderm or Cetaphil).
  5. 05Wash 2–3 times a day and moisturize 3–4 times a day for 2 weeks.
  6. 06No soaking: skip pools, hot tubs, baths, and the ocean for 3 weeks.
  7. 07Keep it out of direct sunlight while healing. Once healed, always use SPF 30+ to protect the ink.
  8. 08Wear loose, breathable clothing over the area. Do not pick, scratch, or peel — let scabs fall off naturally.
For Regulars · Long-Term Care

Keep It Sharp for Life

  1. 01Touch-ups within the first year are on the house — reach out if anything needs a refresh.
  2. 02Long-term: daily SPF is the single best thing you can do to keep color and lines crisp.
  3. 03Stay hydrated and moisturized. Well-cared-for skin holds ink beautifully.
  4. 04If you're getting a large piece in stages, avoid tanning between sessions.
  5. 05Recognize infection signs early: spreading redness, pus, fever, or heat — call your doctor promptly.
  6. 06Questions between sessions? Text or call the shop directly. Better a quick check than a guess.
